Eat fresh | UX Design

Overview

As ordering groceries online become bigger and bigger, I noticed the customer's needs for a faster, and easier shopping experience have as well. I'm the designer of my self UX project 'Eat Fresh' that I created to give users a fast ,easy, and diverse selection of item searching for their shopping experience .

The problem

The ability for shoppers to search 3rd party supermarkets within the app, makes it easier for  customers to find their preferred item which changes how things were in the past where your only options are substitutes

My motive:
  • Give shoppers multiple ways to shop for their preferred item.

Before grocery shopping became what it is today, shoppers didn't gravitate to the convenience idea of getting the exact item they wanted to order. Worst case scenario they couldn't find the item they were looking for and settled with a substitute until they were physically at the store.
Without making it confusing or hard to navigate I added "shop stores near you" for shoppers to have a more diverse selection of stores to shop in case they couldn't find their desired item first try.

The research

To make this process a success, I did 5-10 rounds of user testing with iterations of feedback given. Realizing  how most of the users normally found their preferred item on an app opposite to what they normally use ,  shows that there is a high possibility they may not find their desired item on their preferred shopping app.

Let's see how this works

As the user is browsing the app, they would land on the locations page being  able to search their nearest primary store, or secondary.

They'll have their searched store pop up in their locations based off what's closest to them, In which they'd rather shop from. Given a choice they'd be able choose to shop from their searched store while being able to add items from their selected store into their cart.

The result

The overall feedback that i received from users that I had test the feature of the app was positive with many of the shoppers find this experience to be the most convenient
